Brett Phillips Welcome to issue 58 of Printing Plus.
It is always a pleasure to be able to provide quality products with exceptional service and attention to detail.
It is also very gratifying to receive feedback and appreciation after having gone 'the extra mile' on occasions when circumstances demand more than just the routine application.
'Word of mouth' advertising is one of the most effective marketing tools available and there is no better appreciation than a client who has offered positive feedback for a job well done, so we have boldly highlighted a letter received recently from one such client on page 10.
Sustainability in all parts of business continues to be a priority as we endeavour to survive the continuing effects of recession while at the same time taking positive steps to lessen our impact on the environment.
Reducing our carbon footprint and providing our clients with an authentic method of identification and validation makes a real difference to the environment.
Yet it remains disappointing that some organisations continue to pay 'lip service' to making genuine improvements to their environmental impact when it comes to choosing paper products.
It is simply not good enough to make unsubstantiated statements on printed products that suggest a paper is an environmentally friendly stock without evidence to validate the claim.
Most consumers would find it difficult to identify one type of paper from another let alone know where it was sourced or how it was produced.
However, as consumers become more focused on choosing environmentally sustainable products the necessity to validate one's claims about a paper will become more important.
Print House clients are able to use our certification license for PEFC and FSC labeling to highlight they truly are using environmentally friendly and sustainably sourced products.
Print House is currently the only locally owned printing company to hold FSC, PEFC and Enviromark certifications.
The labeling and associated certification numbers validate the statements printed on the product and only certified companies are able to provide this service.
Print purchasers can visit info.fsc.org and register.pefc.cz where there are registers establishing bona fidÈ suppliers. We would recommend that you consider using the companies that are listed on these registers. Of course, we hope you would choose Print House.
It is simply good business to show your clients that you care about the environment and it need not cost the earth... in fact, at Print House it won't cost you a cent more.
The Printing Plus is a great place to showcase some of the projects Print House has undertaken and it is also one way we can support our own clients and highlight their business endeavours and activities.
This month we have highlighted Waikato Motor Group, Avalon Industries and Wintec.
Waikato Motor Group's Autumn Newsletter was an ideal project to put through our recently installed Neopost Folder/Inserter and you can read more about this on page 4.
As well as profiling projects completed at Print House, Printing Plus is a great way for us to get industry information out to our clients and this month we have included an article about Oxo-Bioplast biodegradable plastic on page 6. This will be of particular interest to those of you who do mail out projects with flow wrapping.
I hope you enjoy this issue of Printing Plus and don't hesitate to give me a call or email me if you would like any further information.
Yours in Print
