Winter can be a cold, wet, sometimes frosty period in the Waikato.
It helps to buoy the spirits though, remembering that not only does Winter bring a change in the weather, it also precipitates the arrival of a major carnival in Hamilton. Held annually since 1907, the Waikato Winter Show has become something of a tradition for the Waikato populace. Local designer, Philip Hagan of Big Posters, who is also the President of the Waikato Winter Show Association, has designed exhibitor flyers and show passes for this year's Show. The exhibitor flyers were distributed earlier this year and bookings so far indicate a fantastic array of high quality products, demonstrations and samplings filling the exhibitor halls. As with all major events entry passes are necessary and this year nine variations have been produced to help ensure a smooth transition into the facility for exhibitors and public alike. While the design of each pass is identical, the text varies and each pass is numbered. The passes were an ideal project for Print House to produce on our HP Indigo Digital Offset press utilising on-the-fly data-merge technology. Event Manager, Cheryl Cole-Baker said, "We have always found Print House friendly, efficient, reliable and fast, which takes a lot of the hassle out of the equation for us as clients." Celebrating its 102nd anniversary, the Waikato Winter Show promises to be a rip-roaring festive celebration packed full of free entertainment. A Dark Ages Village complete with villagers, court jesters, wandering minstrels, storytellers, druids, knaves, knights, lords, ladies and larrikins sets the scene for one of the feature events - a Medieval Jousting Tournament. The Show caters to all ages and interests with an Off-Road Grand Prix, skate and dance competitions, a multitude of amusement rides and the essential carnival caravans.
