The imagination of one person can be another person's reality. Incredible to some, but to those of us lucky enough to live in New Zealand, author J.R.R Tolkien's description of Middle-earth describes the type of landscape many of us grew up surrounded by.
The Alexander Farm in Matamata was 'discovered' during an aerial search by Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema - producers of Lord of the Rings.
The property matched the author's description so well that even the large established pine tree, later re-named the party tree, was already perfectly placed in front of the lake. The surrounding rolling farmland was untouched by 20th century clutter such as roads, buildings or power lines. The farm was perfect.
For the Alexander family who have farmed the property since 1978, the suggestion of a film being made in their paddocks was something of a surprise, yet the family took the idea on board with an enterprising spirit and now have the kind of diversity in their operation that is, well, unusual.
Although the film crews, props and paraphernalia have gone, the Alexander farm still has the original hobbit holes and it is these that visitors come from around the world to see.
However, there is much more to a Hobbiton Movie Set Tour than the movie set, the Alexander family have opened up their shearing shed and farm to give their visitors a real Kiwi farm experience.
No tour is complete without a cuppa and a bite to eat and word is that the on-site café, The Shire's Rest, delivers a very satisfying meal.
Hobbiton Movie Set and Farm Tours also caters for conferences, team building workshops and special occasions.
And, with a bit more imagination, who knows what else might be around the corner?
This diverse range of facilities generates a host of marketing requirements including an array of printing projects which Print House is happy to produce.
Hobbiton brochures

Two of the most recent projects have been the Hobbiton Movie Set Official Tour Guide and the Hobbiton Movie Set Brochure.
The Tour Guide is printed in 4-colour process on 150gsm Neo Gloss stock and folded to create an attractive A5 leaflet.
The three panel Brochure, also 4-colour process, is printed on 170gsm Neo Satin stock with a matt seal for extra durability.
Ian Brodie, Media & Communications Manager of Hobbiton Movie Set said, "The quality of our product must be reflected in our printed material and we are very pleased with what Print House provide. This quality is matched by professional, enthusiastic and personable staff."
