Welcome to our 61st issue of Printing Plus, our last for 2010.
Thinking back over what has been a very tough year for us, I am looking forward to 2011 and the prospect of an improved market place with all that has to offer. However, while it has been a difficult year, it has also been very interesting and the team at Print House have once again completed many successful projects. Some of the things that top the list of achievements are the winning of another gold medal at this year's Pride in Print Awards and receiving the associated accolades from our industry peers. The introduction of new finishing and mailing equipment has been beneficial in ensuring we meet client delivery expectations and streamlining our production capabilities. Launching our online book store www.TheBestLittleBookStore.co.nz in September has been an exciting venture and is already being recognised by authors and self publishers as being an ideal option for the production, promotion and distribution of their publications. With several publications ranging from small print runs of just 20 copies through to larger volumes of 5,000 copies, we have been able to satisfy the demands of many discerning authors. An area of our expertise which has gone unrecognised for some time is our production capabilities with regards to light packaging. Recently we have been involved in producing a range of customised promotional packaging which has presented some challenges. These types of projects, while sometimes being complicated, are very rewarding, especially when there are positive results. Another aspect which has been pleasing over the last twelve months has been the increased use of our FSC and PEFC certification by several of our clients. Ultimately this is positive from an environmental perspective. It is also pleasing that our clients are able to make good purchasing choices without incurring any additional costs and without sacrificing quality. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the team at Print House for their continued dedication and support throughout 2010. In many instances there are staff members who have gone the extra mile and this is what makes us a 'can do' company. Finally, it does not seem that long ago that we wished all our clients a Merry Christmas for 2009 so obviously I am showing signs of age as the months fly by quicker than ever! So, from everyone at Print House, we again wish you a Merry Christmas and the very best for 2011. Yours in Print
