Fit2Cook is a cook book published by Waikato Diocesan School students Jessie Hodges, Laura Kelly, Sarah Knighton and Sarah Mackie as their project for the young enterprise unit of their year 10 social studies class.
The brief for the unit was to create a product that could be sold at a market day. Sharing an interest in competitive sport and cooking the girls decided a sports themed cook book would be ideal.
A collection of 54 healthy recipes, including contributions from a host of elite athletes, have been categorised according to their nutritional suitability for pre-event, training and post-event meals.

As the girls are all involved in competitive sport at a high level (three at Waikato and Hamilton City representative level), they were keen to support a local sporting charity and have pledged 10% of all profits from the book to the Te Awa River Ride Charitable Trust.
Funds will also be put towards the 2012 Waikato Diocesan Netball Tour of Europe which Laura and Jessie have both been selected for.
Fit2Cook Business Director, Sarah Knighton, said, "We learnt a lot from our project as it forced us to communicate with a wide range of people like elite athletes, our graphic designer and Print House."
It is great to see the enthusiasm and commitment applied by this group of young, aspiring students/athletes and Print House is pleased to have been involved with the printing of their project.
The 60 page A5 booklet has been printed black on white inside on 90gsm Royal Offset Hi-Brite stock with a 4-colour process cover printed two sides on 300gsm Neo Satin. The practical choice of wiro binding ensures ease of use in the kitchen while gloss laminating on the cover will protect the book from spills and splashes.
Print House congratulates the girls on this successful venture, particularly on the fact that 90% of the books have been sold within the first month.
Well done!
