Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) sets the standards for the world in animal performance management through a unique national database which offers unparalleled traceability, world class genetic improvement systems, laboratory, and automation solutions.
Supporting farmers with these systems and providing up-to-the-minute information, services and products ensure that LIC remain true to its vision of being "an essential partner on the farm and in food supply chains". For LIC it is important that the annually produced Services Catalogue is brimming with the most up to date information and services available. Hamilton's Bettle Advertising was contracted by LIC to prepare the design file for the 70 page 2009 Services Catalogue while Print House took care of the printing, binding and distribution of the 15,000 copies produced. To enable distribution to begin on January 15 it was necessary to have all the printing completed prior to the holiday period. Print House received the files during the week prior to Christmas, so it was all hands on deck to ensure the proofs were ready for sign off by the evening of January 19 and the press room team were loading the first set of plates by six the following morning. LIC Publications Manager, Emma Abrahams, said, "Getting the Services Catalogue information together is always a very busy time of year for us but Stephen and the team at Print House were very adaptable to enable the project to be completed on time. The proofs were delivered to me at my home on the evening of January19 so that I could sign them off in readiness for plates to be made that night and printing to start the next morning."
Print House delivered advance samples of the completed catalogue to LIC prior to Christmas and proceeded to complete the binding in time for the distribution project in January.
With binding completed early in January, various items were counted and packed together including the Services Catalogue, Calendars, Calving and Mating Handbooks, reports, caps and more, to create the LIC sales kit which was freighted to approximately 90 LIC agents located throughout New Zealand.
